This is a stunning Art Deco Josef Inwald Barolac Frosted Glass Mermaid Bowl. This large heavy Molded Glass Bowl measures 12.5″ in diameter and is 6″ tall. The exterior design features four bas relief Mermaids with long flowing hair frolicking in the Seaweed. The large rim is decorated with Lily Pads and a total of 11 Lotus flowers in bas relief. The Bowl sits flat on 4 glass feet. The condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or flea bites. There are some visible smudges in the frosted bottom. Barolac was a frosted line of the Josef Inwald Co. which produced very high quality glassware. It was made for the London retailer, John Jenkins & Sons in the 1930s. Not marked.
