Mid Century Modern Knud Albert Carved Rosewood Sculpture

This is a very scarce Mid Century Modern Knud Albert Carved Rosewood Sculpture. While little is known about Knud Albert, he did own a small artist’s studio in Odense, Denmark in the 1960s. He preferred to use leftover wood scraps from the furniture industry and is well known for his whimsical and imaginative figures, usually carved from Rosewood or Teak. This example of his work measures 14″ in length. It is impeccably carved from Rosewood featuring hand painted eyes and sits flush with his head slightly raised. The condition is excellent with no damage. It has a remarkably smooth dark grained patina. Marked Made in Denmark Knud Albert on the bottom. Circa 1960s.
