Description
This is a rare Samwillie Amidlak Carved Soapstone Bird. This carving measures 5.5″ long and is 3.75″ tall. Features a bird sitting on a rock carved in the traditional Inuit style. Samwillie Amidlak (1902-1984) was a well-known Soapstone carver from the Eastern Arctic region. This piece is in very nice condition and is marked with E9-1546 which was Amidlak’s Disk number. Also retains the original Canada Eskimo Art label.
